Users & Groups

Access to the various parts of your PHPCow functions are controlled by a group management system. You can create various groups with varying access levels and specific users.

To create the new group, click Add new group in Users and groups tab.

Enter the new group's title and description.

The permission table includes all sections of the PHPCow administrative panel and functionality. By selecting option Yes or No, you can set your desired access level.

Example 1:
Creating a group of writers that can post articles to the news category alone.

On the permission table page, find the window named Article management.

Set Has Permission to Yes, select the Category Permissions to news and select Pending (Writer) for the Post/Edit/Delete As section.

All other categories should remain as having No Permission.

Example 2: Creating a group of editors with permission to post, edit, and delete articles in news and press review sections.

Using the CTRL key you can select multiple categories in the Category Permissions list, thus enabling a particular group to access said categories. In addition, by selecting Pending/Approve/Edit/Delete (Editor) in the Post/Edit/Delete section, this group can fully manage the articles in the specified categories.

Example 3: Creating a group of web-designers that can access the news template only.

This will grant access to the news template only, restricting all other sections.

Example 4:
Creating a group of administrators with complete access.
Just select all options as YES and highlight all categories.

By default, there is one default administrator group with FULL permission.
